It’s understandable if you confused the Flip 3 and Flip 4 devices. Since the design is so effective, it is okay that they are nearly identical. The Flip 4 was improved with Gorilla Glass Victus Plus, aluminum sides, a more durable main screen, and a very slight weight increase that together make the Flip 4 feel sturdy. Even so, I wouldn’t say the phone is heavy. It feels pleasant and satisfyingly firm. It didn’t require special care or a unique approach from the way I handle my other phones.
With an IPX8 rating for water resistance, it can be submerged for 30 minutes up to 1.5 meters (about 5 feet) deep. Even though that is impressive, Flip 4 is not dust resistant.
The phone has a new matte finish that hides fingerprints and is purple. It is significantly superior to Flip 3’s glossy finish. I like how Flip 4’s aluminum sides have a shiny purple hue to them.
In case you were wondering, the screen crease is still present. I don’t mind it, but I can see how it might bother some people. Since you use the Flip 4 and all phones head-on, it’s not particularly noticeable.
Like a typical phone, the Flip 4’s display is not laminated to a glass panel. It feels like there is nothing between your fingertips and the internet, or between you and your photos, and there is only a thin layer separating them from the high refresh rate screen.

I played a few YouTube videos, scrolling through my Instagram feed, played a round of PUBG Mobile, then raced a course in Mario Kart Tour, made a 5-minute video call with Zoom, and, finally, played Alto’s Odyssey over the course of 45 minutes with the screen at full brightness. The Flip 4 feels quick and responsive thanks to the new processor and Android 12L. Smooth animations and enjoyable gaming. Split-screen multitasking between two apps works well. A larger battery, cover screen, faster and more effective processor, and the main display with a high refresh rate are all included in the more durable design that is water resistant.
The key factor in choosing between a Flip 4 and a Galaxy S22 is whether you want a foldable phone or not. Actually, you’re paying $200 more for that ability. The Flip 4’s processor is faster, but the Galaxy S22’s battery lasts long after a single charge.
