About Samsung Galaxy A23

The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G is a phone in search of the middle ground. Although it has some jagged edges in delicate places, its substantial, sharp display and equally substantial, long-lasting battery are excellent among budget phones.

But if you’re willing to make some concessions, the Galaxy A23 5G offers more value over the course of its lengthy update commitment.

Samsung Galaxy A23 Design

Looking very similar to the A33, the Galaxy A23 sports a one-piece design at the back with a camera module that slightly pops out. The device lacks uniformity in design because the side frames are separate objects. All of it is plastic, and the glossy finish makes a cloth useful because this set is notorious for smudging fingerprints.

It’s just a very standard Galaxy A device with the usual volume rocker and power button, and a single, bottom-firing mono speaker that is at best passable.

To make it a triple-card slot, the SIM card tray supports dual-sim standby and has an open micoSD card slot for you to use to increase your memory.

Samsung Galaxy A23 Display

The Galaxy A23 packs a basic Running at 90Hz is a FHD+ IPS LCD panel.

In contrast to the A53 5G, which opts for a fuller display with a small hole-punched camera (but that costs twice as much), this device has somewhat thick bezels on the screen and the tip is only marginally covered by the V-shaped notch.

The Hardware

The Galaxy A23 runs on a The energy-efficient Snapdragon 680 chipset is well-known. Since Malaysia’s 5G infrastructure is still largely undeveloped, the maximum network spectrum this device can use will be an LTE chip, but that won’t necessarily be a problem.

Because it has a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, switching between menus and apps was tolerable if you used this device for social media and video streaming on a regular basis.

That would be the end of my ideal use-case for this device, however. Even though the chipset was only released last year, the processor’s cores are already quite old. Since the Adreno 610 GPU is also quite old, I can only say that older games could be played on this device, even though the chipset was only released last year.

If you don’t care about this, the Galaxy A23 will work just fine.

Impressive Battery Life of Samsung Galaxy A23

On a full 5000 mAh tank, the Galaxy A23 is able to last either 2-3 days of conservative, non-busy use or just 1 full day of maximum intensity.

As a point of comparison, it can outlast flagship devices with higher price tags that, when used at their maximum intensity (roughly 6-7 hours of screen-on time), need to be recharged by late afternoon.

The Snapdragon 680 performs best in this area, making it the perfect choice for entrepreneurs running small businesses who require a durable, reasonably priced smartphone for message replying and announcement-making.

If they’re going somewhere without many charging options, I can also see travelers purchasing a device like this to use as a backup phone for calls and messaging.

Samsung has chosen to no longer include the charger in the box with the A series devices, so there is support for 25W fast charging, but it is not available with the device.

It usually takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to have it fully charged again if you do have a 25W charger handy (from Samsung or has PD 3.0 support), which isn’t too bad.

Final Thoughts: Samsung Galaxy A23 Reviews

Android phones’ $300 wasteland is a dangerous and unpredictably unpredictable place. It’s jam-packed with gadgets that force you to choose between powerful cameras, durable batteries, and tough, long-lasting designs.

Samsung’s Galaxy A23 5G, however, asks what would happen if you found the middle ground between those specs. It combines elements from various sources to create an effective but flawed device that is affordable.

Despite its flaws, the Galaxy A23 5G continues to be difficult to match for its commitment to software and security updates.
